This one is about you. You and your voice.

Hi. This is the place where I normally open up and let loose whatever neurotic parenting moment or issue or conundrum I am finding myself in as I type.

But this is not a normal day.

It's my birthday. More important than that, however, is that it is the eve of the 2008 presidential election. And I'm writing to simply say: Vote, with hope in your heart for better tomorrows. Please.

As for the neurotic parenting stuff, find me here, here, and here. And I'll be back here by the end of the week, because there is a funny story about a plastic Jesus (kinda like the priest walking into the bar jokes I guess), that I'm dying to tell you.

Thanks, Kate. Happy Birthday. I'm voting after I drop the kids off at school... and then I'll be holding my breath for the rest of the day.

Good luck. Be hopeful.

How in the world did I miss your birthday by ELEVEN DAYS? I am not even a good CYBER Friend.

And are you kidding me, you're a SCORPIO, too? Do we really have that much in common?

Great posts, all 3 of them!
The conflict between the parent we'd like to be and who we find ourselves to be can be quite a challenge, but to even question your parenting shows your doing it right. We also made a choice to live close to nature, and our boys validate that decision on a regular basis. They love the outdoors, and have always been so appreciative of the time they spend exploring.
Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday! And I think you voted for who I did and was that a birthday present or what?!

Zip n tizzy, my daughter came home with a Riley's Believe it or Not book from school today and guess what was in there? A kid with an orange traffic cone stuck on his head! They had to get the fire department to get it off!

Hi Kate, I love your blog. Your stories of mommy-hood are great and really inspiring! Especially for someone like me - that's been "on the fence" for 37 years about that whole being a mom thing!!!! ;o)
Great snowball fight yesterday! Please send me an email when you have the chance so that I have your address! Mine is on my blog...

Very best,
